Six Sigma deployment at ATP has been a corporate wide business initiative led by A.C. Ramos, Director of Six Sigma and Statistics. For all of our quality injection molding processes and throughout the corporation, ATP has established a paradigm for continuous improvement embracing the latest Six Sigma techniques and methods.
Phase one was to establish a leadership and technical resource for the corporation. Phase two created specific training material relative to the operation. Phase three consisted of the training of Green Belts (called "wave training") in all ATP sites. Training consists of four weeks of rigorous classroom and applied instruction. Green Belt students were required to complete two projects as well as pass an oral defense to obtain their certification. Currently five of the six manufacturing plants have gone through the training, whih is led by a certified Master Black Belt who has trained over 1000 Black and Green Belts internationally. Student projects are averaging $100k in cost savings and process improvements.
Phase four will combine Lean and Black Belt Training, called "Sigma Lean". Applied Tech Products can offer this support to our clients in the spirit of partnership and looks forward to this opportunity.
